Yesterday's was the biggest as we loaded all of our furniture onto a hired truck and took it to the storage room we have hired in Moenchengladbach. It took us the whole day and we now have aches and pains as reminders of our hard work. The flat is all clean and was visited tonight by the new tenant to whom we gave a set of keys , although we are staying one last night. We have our camping mattresses so the place is looking more like a squat than our home! I must say I am a little sad to be leaving because I really like the flat, although I think it's the garden and the large windows overlooking it which I will miss the most.
Everything until this point has seemed surreal but now I am beginning to get nervous. Have we done the right thing? Will Tala be okay on the plane? Will we even like Canada? :O
We have just returned from our favourite Italian restaurant and have said goodbye to our mate, Roger, who has been a great help in the last month. We've also just had our lovely neighbour over to say goodbye. It was really sweet that she started crying :'(
So, here's to another night in our 'squat' and our long journey tomorrow. Cheers.
